Parent's Solution to"Stranger Danger" Isn't Just for Kids

Tanya Waid was scrolling through her Facebook when she noticed posts of mom's and their kids being followed by strangers.

Being a mother herself, Tanya took to social media, asking people how they would feel about taking Krav Maga lessons from her husband Andrew; who was a Krav Maga instructor in Alaska and has been involved in the art of self defense for over seven years now.

The response they received took both of them by surprise, with over one hundred comments supporting her idea.

Tanya and Andrew plan on opening private lessons as early as next week, with prices starting at $30 for 2 one-on-one, two-hour lessons a week; or, $90 for the month.

But for Tanya and Andrew, this isn't about the money.

For them, it's just an opportunity to give back to the community they love.

"Not only is this our home, we plan on raising our kids here. And I know that’s the case for a lot of other people here in Great Falls; is that they want this to be there home. And everybody wants their home to be safe for them and their children, " says Andrew Waid.

A local self defense company has also reached out to Andrew with the possibility of letting him instruct out of their studio; making group lessons a viable option in the near future.
