Camera Operator/ Audio Operator

Job Description:  In studio camera and audio board operator during nightly news broadcasts. Live sports and live news remote broadcasts.

Qualifications:  Undergraduate Degree in Television Production preferred.  Basic knowledge of camera operation preferred; PC competent.Ability to work as part of team in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Strong communication skills are a must.

Physical Requirements or Restrictions:  Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. equipment. Sight and dexterity to do computer input and run the audio board.

ABC FOX Montana is hiring a Part-Time Camera/Audio Operator for our statewide and regional newscasts. This position will be based in Missoula.

Position will work directly with the news department on a daily basis operating studio cameras and production audio boards during live news broadcasts. Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and capable of communicating effectively in a fast-paced live news environment.

Weather Anchor/Meteorologist 

ABC FOX Montana and SWX, a TV broadcast group based in Missoula, Montana is looking for an experienced meteorologist to spearhead our weather effort on-air and on-line. A degree in meteorology, 2 to 5 years as a broadcast meteorologist, and experience with Baron LYNX is preferred.  Reciting numbers from the National Weather Service isn’t the plan!  If your goal is producing the very best weathercast in the market, you can tell a compelling weather story every day using the latest weather tools and information, and you take pride in your accuracy, you’re exactly who we’re looking for. Our Weather Anchor delivers weather forecasts for our primary evening newscasts covering western and south-central Montana. The successful candidate will also know how to deliver the latest forecasts to our other media platforms. You must be a motivated, self-starter who relates well to co-workers and our viewers.

Assist Southwest Montana reporters with breaking news coverage and content pertaining to the daily newscasts. Oversee the Southwest Montana stations as Assistant News Director. Part time Sales Assistant - Bozeman

ABC & FOX TV is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our team in Bozeman. This position will be responsible for sales assistant duties. Computer competency with strong detail orientation and organizational skills are required. Data entry and support role within the sales department. Previous sales department experience is preferred though not required. Position is part-time M-F/8-5pm – up to 28 hours a week.

Weekend WXR/MMJ

Cowles Montana Media is looking for the right person to continue our news and weather dominance!  

If you think you can be the weather face of our statewide newscast that services all of northwestern and central Montana, this may be the perfect job for you! This person will join our award-winning weather team and will be able to cover everything from summer thunderstorms and fire season to snowy forecasts for the winter slopes.

This position will be based in our Great Falls location. The successful candidate will be a journalist first, knowing how to engage our viewers with every word, map and graphic. They will also be trained on how to deliver the latest weather forecasts to our online and social media platforms for the weekends. We want someone who is not only comfortable with the challenge of forecasting widely varied Montana weather, but can also handle reporting duties.

Community involvement is also important to us. A degree in communications/broadcast journalism or related field required. Experience using the latest version of Baron Weather Services and a vast understanding of its capabilities would be a big plus. You must be a motivated self-starter who works well with others.

KFBB is currently accepting applications for part-time news studio camera/audio operators 15-29 hours a week. Prior experience is not required, will train the right candidate. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and available on nights and weekends.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Computer literate
  • Strong organization skills
  • Very detail oriented
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Broadcast Experience is helpful but not required

Physical Requirements & Restrictions: Sight, hearing and dexterity to focus & frame studio cameras, do computer input, and monitor audio/video of on-air newscasts. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
