Siding with Ratepayer Advocate, PSC Limits Duration of Energy Contracts

BUTTE- NorthWestern Energy has scheduled a five-hour-long power outage Saturday, for parts of Butte.

The outage will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 13th and last for about five hours. According to NorthWestern Energy's Media Office, the outage will affect approximately 600 customers in Butte. The outage will affect customers from Second Street north to Mercury Street; and from Dakota Street east to the areas of the Silver Bow Homes and the Warehouse District.

NorthWestern Energy said efforts are being made to contact customers in the affected area via telephone or in person.

The planned outage will allow company line crews to safely perform electric upgrades.

NorthWestern Energy's Media Contact Butch Larcombe said they know the outage will be inconvenient to customers but said it's hard to find a time convenient for everyone. "We need to get it done before winter sets in for the long term," said Larcombe.

NorthWestern Energy said they apologize for any inconvenience this planned outage may cause. For any questions or concerns, customers are advised to call the Customer Contact Center at (888) 467-2669.
