Kalispell water and sewer construction will impact drivers

MULTI-LOCATION SIGNAL SAFETY UPGRADE PROJECT continues…

Crews will be installing reflective borders around signal heads at numerous intersections in Polson, Somers and Kalispell, weather permitting.  Work at intersections within the cities will be done at night to reduce traffic impact.  Other rural locations will be done during daylight hours.  Completion is expected by October 1st, 2016.

EXPECT: Intersection activities; single lane closures; intermittent reduced speed limits within work zones; possible flaggers


S-109/KALISPELL BYPASS, mp 2.5 to 5.2, North of US-2, West of KALISPELL

Work continues off of the roadway.  Watch for equipment entering and leaving various work areas within the project.  Traffic may be impacted periodically, depending on the weather and operations, as follows:

  • US-2: will have temporary traffic signals in the area of the Bypass, expect lane closures near the new overpass construction.
  • US-2 to Foys Lake Road: both lanes of traffic have been switched to the new southbound on-ramp with reduced speed of 35 MPH.
  • Two Mile Drive: will have signals and flaggers.
  • Old Reserve Drive: expect lane closures near the new overpass construction south of the high school.

S-424/THREE MILE DRIVE, mp 0.1 to 0.5, West of Meridian, KALISPELL

Work is underway to build a new path beside the roadway.  Operations include various shoulder activities and may require single lane closures from time to time.  Completion is scheduled for September 16th, 2016.

             EXPECT: Shoulder activities; single lane closures


US-2, mp 146.2 to 153.1, CORAM to WEST GLACIER

Crews will be putting in a new pedestrian path on the north side of the highway. Work will be off of the road and should not impact traffic.

US-2, mp 161 to 161.3, Deerlick Creek Bridge, East of WEST GLACIER

Crews continue operations of setting the new bridge beams.

US-93/SUNSET BLVD, mp 113.84 to 113.99, South of Conway Drive, KALISPELL

Work is underway to build a new path on the eastside of the highway.  Operations include various shoulder activities and may require single lane closures from time to time.  Completion is scheduled for September 16th, 2016.

US-93/HAPPY VALLEY, mp 122.2 to 122.5, South of WHITEFISH

Crews will be installing a raised median, electrical components, and signs.  Completion is expected by October 1st, 2016.
