In three weeks, Montanans head to the polls. Until then, you'll be seeing more and more campaigns from candidates running for office.
But do you know just how much money is spent on these ads?
Between just Jon Tester and Matt Rosendale alone, they have spent around half of a million dollars buying airtime for ads with just the stations within the Cowles Company in Montana.
Believe it or not, both spent some of the most money right here in Great Falls as Cascade County will be a huge battleground county for both.
As of today, Jon tester spent $310,985 on television ads with the Cowles Media Company alone during this quarter from July 1st until September 30th. Rosendale respectively spent $167,770.
According to the federal elections commission the tester campaign in the same quarter has paid out $3,845,868.24 in total expenditures, as of September 30th. While the Rosendale campaign spent $1,996,688.16 as of September 30th, 2018.
To put this into perspective the tester campaign spent 12.36 percent of their total funds on television campaign ads within our media company, which broadcasts all over the state, alone during this quarter.
The Rosendale campaign has spent 11.90 percent of their funds on television ads with us respectively.
