Election Day is officially one week away, and as the deadline approaches there are some facts that voters need to know.
Polls on Election Day will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Residents in Dearborn will have to wait until noon for polls to open.
The deadline for registered voters to request a ballot before Election Day is November 5th, at noon. All registered voters who miss deadline have to vote on Election Day. Make sure you bring your ID when you register to vote.
"So if you're a new registrant it's not too late to register to vote," Cascade County Clerk and Recorder, Rina Moore, said. "If you've lost a ballot it's not too late to get that fixed, if you have made a mistake on a ballot it's not too late to repair that, but it's all happening at Exhibition Hall at the Fairgrounds."
If you sent your ballot in by mail, you can check the progress of your ballot online, at www.MyVoterPageMT.com.
"One fallacy that is out there that I've heard over and over again is people do not think that we count the absentee ballots until the race is close," Moore added. "Absentee ballots are always counted. In fact they are the first ones counted."
