MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - A man who prostituted his 17-year-old girlfriend faces 10 years in jail if he violates his probation.
The Missoulian reports (http://bit.ly/1QLxQ3b) 44-year-old Walter Leon Hill was sentenced Tuesday under a plea agreement for promoting prostitution.
Missoula County Attorney Kirsten Pabst and defense attorney Pat Sandefur argued in favor of the suspended sentence in court. Pabst said the plea agreement was reached earlier this spring because the victim was not cooperating with prosecutors.
Police received a tip in 2013 about an ad on backpage.com. An officer contacted the teen, who took police to Hill.
The defendant left Missoula, and was extradited from New York in September 2013 to face charges.
Hill has spent two years in jail on a $100,000 bond before Missoula District Judge Karen Townsend released him in April.
