MISSOULA- Missoula Animal Control is asking for help paying for surgery for a rescued stray dog, Alvin, who is fighting for his life.

Animal Control posted on Monday, Feb. 11, saying that Alvin is a maltese mix who came in as a stray.

He was severely wounded in the abdomen after being attacked by another dog, shelter staff say. He's undergone emergency surgery and has a massive infection.

The shelter is hoping to raise $700 for his veterinary bills.
