MISSOULA -

The Missoula elections office has important information voters need to know for election day.

Election officials said as of 11:45 a.m., roughly 66 percent of ballots have been returned. Officials said the number of people voting absentee is up compared to previous midterm elections.

According to Dayna Causby, who works as the Missoula Elections Office Administrator, there will be two entrances to the Missoula fairgrounds where the elections office is located. On election day, Causby said voters can enter the fairgrounds off of South Avenue, or at another entrance is off of Russell Street.

Election officials said there will be an absentee ballot drive-thru by each entrances to the fairgrounds. According to Causby,  it's the fastest way to vote tomorrow. There is also an absentee ballot drop-off box near the parking lot of the Missoula County courthouse.

The Missoula fairgrounds is under construction, and Causby said there will be signs pointing people in the right direction on election day. She said voters can park in the grass field next to the elections office.

Causby said election day will be busy, and she's grateful for the people who help make it possible.

"The [election staff] have spent many countless hours working to make this election successful and I appreciate all of them as well as all the voters who have already turned out returned their ballots and those that will show up at the polls on election day," Causby said.

Montana allows its residents to register to vote on election day. The Missoula Elections office allows voter registration until 8 p.m.
