UM to host forum on hate crimes

Posted: Updated:

The Department of Justice community relations team will be at the University of Montana on Tuesday, October 30 for a forum on hate crimes.

The forum will be split into three sessions. The first session will focus on the laws that govern the handling of hate crimes. The second will give the audience a chance to hear from community leaders about what they’ve personally experienced and seen in regard to their respective groups. The third session will focus on resources for those struggling with the effects of hate crimes.

The forum will take place on Tuesday, October 30 at 6 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom at UM. The University Center describes the forum as a pre-event for DiverseU, a diversity conference at UM that is scheduled for November 1-2, 2018. All events related to the DiverseU conference are free and open to the public.
