Local artist gives GFHS inspirational facelift

Posted: Updated:

GREAT FALLS- Great Falls High School got an inspirational facelift thanks to one local artist.

Eileen Laskowski is using three simple tools to uplift people inside and outside of Great Falls High. By taking a pen, a piece of paper, and a paperclip, she creates messages like the ones you see.

She writes about thoughts, experiences, or emotions stemming all from her personal sketchbook. Eileen explains it's important for high school students to have access to the creative process art allows.

“The one message I would give through my artwork is too speak your own truth, and to not be afraid to be vulnerable because that's how you make change,” said Laskowski.

The paper she uses is called Stonehenge. It's an archival paper made for watercolors, ink, and drawing. You can see Eileen's messages at the Dahl Gallery in Great Falls High School. They'll be on sale through November 11th. All of the proceeds from her work go directly to the Great Falls High School Art Program.
