Missoulians gather for the annual UM homecoming parade

MISSOULA -

It's homecoming weekend for the University of Montana.

Earlier this morning they kicked off homecoming festivities with a parade in downtown Missoula.

Regardless of a little rain, folks still lined up along Higgins Avenue and Broadway to watch the annual u-m homecoming parade.

The parade's theme this year was Montana Strong.

First half of parade entries were from the university, youth organizations and schools in and around Missoula.

During the parade, candy and all sorts of goodies were handed out to parade goers.

Today parade goers couldn't agree more that their favorite part of the parade is the community gathering in downtown.

“I think it's just seeing the community come together as one and support each other and just enjoy their time together,” said Kelsie Taylor, Missoula local.

“Everyone in the community out to watch...and it's just a great time. All the rides and floats,” said Jake Nachitgal, Missoula local.

Once the parade wrapped up everyone dispersed to get ready for the big game.
