Belgrade man killed in lumberyard accident outside of Three Forks

Posted: Updated:

Tragedy struck Belgrade this weekend after a local man was killed while unloading logs in a lumberyard.

On the evening of September 6, the Gallatin County 911 Center received a call about a man who had been injured in an accident while unloading logs from a tractor-trailer at a lumberyard outside of Three Forks. When Gallatin County deputies and a Three Forks ambulance arrived at the scene, the man, 69-year-old Allan Wagner of Belgrade, had already died.

According to medical examiners, Wagner succumbed to the blunt force injuries he injuries sustained during the accident.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office says that out of respect for Wagner’s family, they will not be releasing any more information about the accident or what caused it. However, they have reportedly concluded their dual investigation with the Deputy Coroner into the incident.

We reached out to OSHA to see if they’ll be investigating the incident, but did not hear back as of press time.
