Deep-fried food and roller coasters are not the only staples at the fair. Animals of all shapes and sizes are there to say hello, too.
The miniature horses are not only cute to look at, but kids 50 pounds and under can ride them.
“These are a lot easier to learn on since they’re not a full size horse and [the kids] are not afraid of them,” said Allan Kluesner, owner of Teenie Winks Miniature Horses.
Kluesner has been bringing his ponies to the fair for 20 years now and lets kids ride them for free. He does this because he loves how they react.
“I do kid's birthday parties and the kids love them,”said Kluesner. “I’m busy all the time.”
Farm animals from every reach of Montana are expect to be at the fair, starting off with hog judging first thing each morning.
