Ravalli County arrests man for drunkenly throwing rock at truck window

Posted: Updated:

HAMILTON - A 20-year-old man faces charges after throwing a rock and breaking the window of a moving truck, deputies say.

The victim told the Ravalli County Sheriff's Office that he was driving on Old Corvallis Road around 12:15 AM on July 6 when his drivers' side window "exploded," showering him in broken glass. The victim said he continued driving, fearful for his safety, because he could hear "hooting and hollering" outside, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigating deputies found a large rock by the side of the road, and marks indicating the rock had scraped off plastic from the truck's weather stripping.

Shoe prints leading away from the scene took deputies to Irvine Munoz' driveway, where they say they found Munoz "extremely intoxicated" and listening to loud music from a stereo in the garage.

Munoz told deputies that he was celebrating the Fourth of July a little late because he'd had to work on the actual holiday. He denied throwing any rocks.

Munoz' charges include felony criminal endangerment and misdemeanor criminal mischief.
