When it comes to giving back to the community, fifth graders from Central Heights elementary school are giving all their hard earned money to a bigger cause.
Four fifth grade students recently produced and directed the first talent show at their school.
The students along with the help of family of friends collected donations for the show, raising nearly $200.
They said while most donations usually go back to the school, they decided to give 100% of the proceeds to Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter to provide homes and the basic necessities to animals in the Billings community.
"The talent show was about getting the money to YVAS but also having our school group together and having a good time," said Jasper Wizeman
"We wanted to do something with the community instead of like giving it back to our school or PTA or something," said Leela Ormsby.
The students said they picked Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter because they loved animals and hoped to make a difference in the community.
