Missouri River fishing access site closed due to high water

Posted: Updated:

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has closed the Mid Canon Fishing Access Site on the Missouri River about halfway between Helena and Great Falls due to high water.

The closure of the FAS just downstream from the mouth of the Dearborn River was prompted by the Missouri River flooding the campground area and latrine.

Mid Canon FAS will remain closed until the Missouri recedes and the area can be cleaned up.  We'll continue to update you as we receive more information from FWP.

KFBB is receiving reports that a presidential plane has landed in Great Falls at the Montana Air National Guard. It is unclear what exactly the plane is doing at MANG, although it is suspected the plane could be apart of the President's fleet and there wasn't room at the Missoula International Airport for the entire fleet to land.  Our Ricky Blackburn is currently on the scene at the airport, and is working to bring us more information as it becomes available.
