MISSOULA - This Saturday, a local Kentucky Derby watch party offers the chance to see a Montana horse compete for the roses.

The Missoula Education Foundation is hosting the third annual Kentucky Derby party at the Missoula Country Club.

Proceeds from the party benefit Missoula County Public Schools.

Attendees are encouraged to compete in the Hat Contest, Derby Board, 50/50 raffle, silent auction and live viewing of the race itself.

The event starts at 2 PM.

This year's Kentucky Derby competitors include Bolt D'Oro, a thoroughbred raised in Columbia Falls by local stable Ruis Racing. Bolt drew the 11th post position in the race.

Bolt D'Oro is currently among the favorites to win. He would be the first Montana horse to win the Kentucky Derby since a stallion named Spokane in 1889.

Tickets to the Missoula Kentucky Derby party are $45 each or $80 for a couple. Click here for more information.
