BZN International Airport closes main runway for rehabilitation

BOZEMAN -

The Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport is starting a three week project in rehabilitating its main runway.

Between the hours of 12:30pm and 11:00pm the main runway will be closed for rehabilitation. Flights between these times have been rescheduled to take place before and after this time slot.

Smaller aircraft and cargo operations will not be impacted because they will still be able to use the shorter runway.

Airport director Brian Sprenger in a press release said, that runway rehabilitation is required about every 15 years and by scheduling the operation hours during the slowest time of the year for the airport they hope they can continue to have airline arrivals and departures every day.

Many airlines will be using larger aircrafts to make up for the loss of approximately three departures a day. Construction started yesterday and will continue through May 19th.
