Foul play not suspected in Libby lumber mill fire

LIBBY -

Lincoln County Undersheriff Brandon Huff says his office has completed an investigation into the fire that destroyed a lumber mill in Libby.

Huff said the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office did not find any indication of arson. The fire tore through the SK Fingerjoint Inc. mill on Sunday, November 5. Two buildings were completely burned.

The sheriff's office say since there is no criminal investigation, it's now up to the company's insurance provider to determine the cause of the fire. Huff said the insurance company believes the fire was caused by an electrical issue.

The company, SK Fingerjoint Inc. cuts the ends of shorter boards like fingers and glues them together to make longer boards. About 30 people were employed by the company.
