Couple's wedding collides with Garth Brooks concert

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

When it comes to a picture perfect spot on the Spokane River, the Flour Mill doesn’t disappoint.

It’s a spot Jamie Hopkins and her fiancé, Thomas Jordan, love.

“We reserved the venue in January or February,” they said.

The couple picked a fall wedding here in Spokane, thinking no other big events would come to town.

A quiet, intimate event, but that all changed in late September.

“Just like within a couple days after we had sent out the invitations all the concerts were announced, and the hotels filled up, parking was going to come into question,” Jamie and Thomas said.

The couple says they’ve got family and friends coming from as far away as Germany and South Carolina.

They aren’t sure where they are going to park.

“It's one more stress that we don't want to have to worry about with if our guests are going to have trouble finding parking or not,”

But the couple knows that the show must go on no matter what the luck of the draw is.

“At the end of the day we're still going to end up getting married,” Jamie said.

For those of you going to the concert, parking around the arena will be chaotic.

Spokane Transit has a bus route specifically designed for the concert, click here for the schedule.
