ANACONDA -

Kellie Olson, 48 has officially been charged with arson in connection to the KANA Radio fire. Olson has retained an attorney, but is currently being held in jail at the Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center.

Although the investigation is not completely closed its near completion. Among the things that were found were significant enough to charge Olson with another fire on Front St. Anaconda Fire Chief R.J. Tocher said "We had three different holes in the KANA building that were started from the top and burned down through the flooring." There is also surveillance video of Olson in the alley behind KANA radio a few hours before she was arrested for the Front St. fire.

Olson's charges carry a sentence up to nearly 100 years. Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Police Chief Tim Barkell says "She's been charged with attempted aggravated arson on the front street fire, and withheld on charges in our jail. Recently the county attorney told me we have enough evidence to charge her with the fire at KANA radio station and she'll be charged with aggravated robbery and burglary." Each of those carries up to a 20 year term.

But even though justice has prevailed it still doesn't fill the gap left in the airwaves. A.W.A.R.E. Media Director Pat Noonan said "It's just sad. Just a senseless malicious vandalism that really takes away something that was a staple for something in the community for so many years it's a bummer just because someone wanted to burn down a building."
