Ruth Clemens was all smiles on her 100th birthday.

She celebrated with friends, family, and other residents at the Missoula Manor.

She reminisced about the days of horse and buggy and the "pioneer lifestyle."  Clemens was born in Wisconsin and spent most of her life as an X-ray technician in California.  She has lived at the manor for about 10 years.  When asked what her secret to long life is, she simply replied, "I think you try to stay calm, happy, thankful.  Not quarrelsome or grabbing."  She also stressed that having friends is very important.  Ruth says no matter where you go, you can always find friends who have similar interests as you.

Ruth enjoys being outdoors and the calm, peaceful place she lives in.  She took time during her speech to thank the people who cared for her.
