Local business and residents found that the Harrison Avenue construction is a bit hard to commute around. The Public Works Department said that the intersection at Harrison and Holmes Avenue is the busiest in Butte. Some car drivers are annoyed by driving through this intersection everyday. Melissa Mizell from Butte said, "It has been a little harder to get to places to places. But I mean it hasn't really affected it that much...just it's taking a bit longer to get where you need to go."
Business has been impacted by this Harrison construction. Manager Eric Smith from Silver Bow Pizza said, "In our in store business a little bit. When it moved into the intersection it started to affect quite a bit more just not being able to make that left hand turn off of Harrison in the parking lot here."
The replacement for the water main is necessary. The Butte-Silver Water Utility said that replacing the water main drinking water will improve. The good news is that these pipes will last for the next sixty years.
