Yellowstone National Park Kicks-Off Summer Season

Posted: Updated:
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK -  Friday marked the beginning of the summer season at Yellowstone National Park.

Roads from Mammoth to Old Faithful, Madison to West Yellowstone and Norris to Canyon are now all open for the summer. The opening comes just in time for the start of national park week that gets under way tomorrow.

The park which hosts over 3 million people each year is also celebrating the launch of a new campaign called 'find your park'.

“This year is special because we have launched the 'Find Your Park' centennial public awareness campaign we want everyone especially our next generation of park visitors, supporters and advocates to find their own connection and cultural heritage,” said acting superintendent Steve Iobst.

To mark opening weekend, national parks across the country will grant free-admission.
