SPOKANE, Wash. - Emergency crews are trying to figure out just what caused an SUV to smash through a hotel room on division. The crash happened at the Apple Tree Inn at 9508 N. Division.

Two people were inside the motel room when the SUV crashed through. One of those people was taken to the hospital with a possible back injury but it is believed to be a non-life threatening injury.

Fire crews cleared the rooms surrounding the wreck as they were worried about the stability of the building. Engineers on the scene were making sure the building was stable before pulling the car out.

Spokane Police say the driver of the SUV may not face any criminal charges. Police say the crash happened when the driver was backing out of a parking space. She hit a truck and got stuck on the truck's hitch. She tried to get free by slamming on the gas and ended up in the building.

The investigation is ongoing.

This story is developing. We will post more details when they become available.
