SEATTLE, Wa. - Washington's first charter school prepares to open in Seattle tomorrow.
First Place Scholar is a school for children from families that need help finding housing, food, health care and jobs.
The building was once a private school called First Place that also taught and helped kids from struggling families.
Some of the teachers who taught for First Place private school are returning to teach at the public charter school.
The school must show that it can help low income kids do as well or better academically than they would at their neighborhood schools.
The school has five years to prove itself.
