BUTTE -

A Butte man is behind bars after leaving another man seriously injured with multiple stab wounds.

The stabbing took place at Silver Bow Homes, a public housing complex in uptown Butte. Police say the suspect, 52-year-old Lamont Anderson, and the victim got into a fight over borrowed clothes. During the fist fight police say the 36-year-old victim was stabbed with a four inch straight blade knife.

Undersheriff George Skuletich said, "During the fight the male was stabbed, he tried to flee, the male suspect tackled him one more time and stabbed him at least two more times."

Police say two of those stab wounds were in the chest. The victim was taken to St. James Healthcare where he was listed in serious condition but is expected to live.

Anderson will be charged with felony aggravated assault.
