Efforts to Count All of America's Military Veterans in U.S. Census Move Forward

Posted: Updated:
MISSOULA - The national veterans organization passed a Montana resolution, making sure the U.S. Census Bureau fully counts all military veterans.

Ed Saunders with the Montana Department of Disabled American Veterans said that America cannot plan for veterans' support if America does not know how many veterans it has.

He goes on to say that America now has three generations of veterans covering about a 75-year age span from World War II to Iraq or Afghanistan, and the number of women veterans is increasing.

He added that's why the national veterans organization is now pushing for federal legislation, requiring the U.S. Census Bureau to fully count America's military vets in the 2020 national census and after.
