Gonzaga Women's Basketball Announces WCC Slate

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – First-year Gonzaga University head women’s basketball coach Lisa Fortier will make her West Coast Conference debut at home as the 2014-15 WCC schedule was announced Tuesday.

The Bulldogs will host BYU Dec. 27, the University of San Diego Dec. 29 and the University of Portland Jan. 3 prior to heading to the University of San Francisco Jan. 8 for their first WCC road test.

Gonzaga will end the regular season on the road Feb. 26 at BYU and Feb. 28 at USD. The WCC Championship at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas begins March 5 with a pair of first-round games matching No. 7 against No. 10 and No. 8 against No. 9, the winners advancing to the quarterfinals.

Fortier, an assistant coach with the Zags for nine years, was named head coach April 14, 2014, to replace Kelly Graves who became the head coach at the University of Oregon.

Fortier has helped build a Bulldog squad which is the 10-time defending WCC regular-season champion and has won six of the last seven WCC Championships. The Bulldogs advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth straight season last spring and for the seventh time in program history.

The complete non-conference schedule, game times and television schedule will be released when finalized.
