WALLA WALLA, WA- The Fort Walla Walla Museum had an ice cream social Sunday for kids before they go back to school.

With admission, visitors received free ice cream, along with an assortment of pioneer games for kids, miniature golf, and antique car showcase, and a bouncy castle.

The museum hoped the ice cream would attract kids to the museum to learn more about the local history.

“One of the most important things we do at Fort Walla Walla Museum is help create connections between kids and their heritage, and you have to get them in the door to do that, so ice cream is a good tool for that,” said the Fort Walla Walla Museum Executive Director James Payne.
