Montana Law Enforcement Memorial Adds One More Name

Posted: Updated:
DEER LODGE -

The old Montana prison keeps track of all the law enforcement officers in the state who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

The Montana Law Enforcement Memorial honors everyone who wears a badge in the Treasure state. The memorial room is located upstairs in the 1912 cell house.

On May 15 each year, there is a peace officers memorial day. It's held at noon in the prison yard.

Right now, there are 129 names kept in the room and Joe Dunn's name, the officer killed Thursday in Cascade county, could be added any time.
