LOLO -

Western Montana gets hit with the triple threat: lightning, wind, and rain.

We're already tracking some of the damage. Northwestern Energy spokesman Butch Larcombe says at least 300 people are without power now.

At it's worst, over 1,000 homes have gone dark.

The wind is the biggest problem, focusing in on the Bitterroot, O'Brien Creek in Missoula, the Saint Regis, and Plains areas.

Larcombe says any downed power lines could be dangerous. If you see any, you can call Northwestern Energy at 888.467.2669.

"It's hard to predict when the power will be restored," said Larcombe, "We're doing the best we can. We've got a lot of outages across western Montana. Our crews are out working on them."

Lightning also caused a few problems, including a grass fire near the Lolo post office. It has since been put out, but this is one of a few small-acre fires in the area.
