MISSOULA -

Police are finally able to track down and arrest a Missoula mother accused of kidnapping her two children.

30-year-old Fawn Phifer appeared in court Friday for parenting interference, after police say she took her children from their father, who had custody of them.

Court documents show when Phifer failed to show up for a court-ordered custody hearing on July 29, the Montana Department of Justice issued the "missing and endangered" alert.

6-year-old Kyus Swanson and 4-year-old Ashlyn Swanson currently don't live with their mother, who has a history of drug abuse.

Attorneys on the case said Phifer was arrested in Glacier County for driving under the influence. Her bail is set at $10,000.
