Hundreds Attended the Annual Art in the Park

RICHLAND, WA - While some people are enjoying the boat races this weekend, others are enjoying artwork.

The annual Art in the Park took place Saturday, showcasing various art collections from vendors from around the region. There were handmade items, a vendor making jewelry with fire and originals paintings.

Organizers say the event was a nice alternative for anyone who wanted to avoid the chaos of boat races.

"The people that come in to the Tri-Cities for both shows, they kind of split their time between them," said Bethany Watts, the event director. "If you don't want to go see the boat races, we still have something for you to do and vice versa."

Art in the Park has been running for almost 65 years. It's hosted by the Allied Arts Association in Richland.
