Carbon County Fair

RED LODGE, Mont. -

The Carbon County Fair was in full swing Thursday in Red Lodge.

For months, 4H competitors have been preparing to showcase their livestock.

Thursday afternoon was the swine show and one of the announcers is also a competitor.

ShayLe Hildebrand says 4H has not just taught her how to raise animals, but inspired her to pursue a specific career goal.

"It makes me interested in becoming a nurse practitioner because I've been able to doctor lambs that have had pneumonia, give them some shots and then they've gotten well again so it makes me feel that not only can you do that in the animal industry but also in healthcare as well for humans," says Hildebrand.

The livestock auction is Saturday, July 26th.

The buyer's luncheon begins at 11:00, and the auction begins at 1:00.
