Class-A South District Tournament Starts in Three Forks
The Class-A South District Tournament is in Three Forks this week. Rob Jesselson was there for all the day one action, and tells us more.
Pick things up tied in the fifth, Zach Hart gives Butte the 4-3 lead with a bloop single to right, Jared Haran comes around to score.
In the bottom of the ninth, Dillon still trailing by a run, but Corey Renfree ties things up with an RBI double to left center, MJ Simkins comes around to score.
In the tenth with the bases loaded, Nathan Simkins smacks one to short, but Butte's Trey Hoagland cant make the throw to home, Dillon wins in walkoff fashion 6-5.
"We've talked about believing in yourself and believing in your abilities late in the game,” said Dillon Head Coach Aaron Orme. “Our guys do. They believe in themselves and they believe in each other. They were able to get it done when it mattered the most."
Next was second seeded Belgrade and the Livingston Braves.
First inning, Belgrade’s Josh Gier slaps an RBI single to right, Koby Ruff scores on the play, 1-0 Bandits.
Jump a couple innings, Belgrade laying it on, Matthew Malzahn drives one to left, two runs come in to score.
Belgrade goes on to win 19-2.
Next was Helena and Deer Lodge.
In the second, Deer Lodge catcher Dakota Crowe lines one to center, two runs cross the plate, 4-0 Deer Lodge.
Bottom half of the inning, Helena comes back, Eamon Byrne slaps one back to the mound, Danforth air-mails the throw to first, Helena grabs a run 4-3 Wranglers at that point.
The Reps would eventually complete the comeback and win 7 to 6.
Last game of the night featured the Anaconda A's and Gallatin Valley.
Second inning, Outlaw's Dante Fillipinni smacks one down the line, two runs cross the plate.
Later, Brock Bitterman lines one to center they score again.
