The Rimrock Neighborhoods Task Force is looking at different possibilities for where to construct an alternate route from the Rims.
Lyle Gabrian, president of the task force, says the rock slide that happened on Zimmerman Trail, re-introduced the need for another route, especially with increased truck traffic. The main question - is Zimmerman suitable as an arterial street? Some suggest the reconstruction of Zimmmerman Trail, expanding it and reducing the steep grade. But there's also talk about creating a Molt Road and Montana Highway 3 connector. Some residents along Molt Road like the idea.
"It would take a lot less time to get to the airport in the winter time,” said Alex Guinn, a resident of Ironwood subdivision. “We have to drive all the way down to the downtown area so we'd be saving a lot of time and then we'd also be able to get to the Heights a lot easier."
Gabrian says another concern is funding for the project, but there's still time before the group will make a recommendation. The next meeting for the task force is in October.

Over the past seven years, the City of Billings Landfill has extended it's lifespan from 20 years, to 55 years and counting. But the landfill has done more for the environment than just compacting garbage.
