Lady Star has been found thanks to your help & the power of social media!

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: SPOKANE, Wash. - A good ending to a story only brought about because of you and the power of social media. You may remember the story of the beautiful German Shepherd, Lady Star who went missing after a car crash on June 24th.

She was the dog of Asha Bartholomew and her husband, a former WWII vet who passed away about a year ago. Well, Asha was involved involved in a car crash more than a month ago. The car was flipped on it's side and Lady Star, who was riding in the car, got scared and ran away at the accident scene.

We aired this story on KHQ two weeks ago and continued to post it on Facebook as reports kept coming in that Lady Star had been seen.

Well, some good news to this story: This weekend, Lady Star was found by a family who lives on 5 mile and has been returned to Asha! Asha is so, so grateful to the thousands of you who shared her story on Facebook and kept an eye out for her dog.

Asha says she feels like Lady Star is the life line to her late husband and her companion now that her husband is gone.

Lady Star has lost about 10 pounds and was taken to the vet by Asha right away. She is expected to be just fine.

PREVIOUS STORY:
SPOKANE, Wash. - A Spokane woman, Asha Bartholomew, was involved in a car crash on June 24th on N. Division. While her injuries were minor, the loss she suffered was major. Following the crash, the hatch on her SUV was opened, and her frightened dog, "Lady Star," ran away.

Lady Star was the dog of her late husband who passed away a year and a half ago. Asha Bartholomew calls Lady Star her life line to her late husband. She has been searching endlessly for the dog every day.

Lady Star is a German Shepherd mix and she has a big white star on her chest. If you see Lady Star, or know where she is, please call SCRAPS at 509-477-2532.

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) - Mitt Romney has been forced into a Republican primary for a U.S. Senate seat in Utah as he looks to restart his political career by replacing long-serving Sen. Orrin Hatch.    Romney already has collected enough signatures to advance to a GOP primary. But if he had won the vote of party delegates Saturday, he would have bypassed a primary altogether.
