Record Breaking Year For Missoula Marathon

Posted: Updated:

It is a record breaking year for the Missoula Marathon, not just in registration numbers, but also in the times runners finished.

Marathon volunteers spent their afternoon taking part in the post marathon clean-up, everyone was in positive spirits after the successful event.

New records were set on three of four courses. For the men's open, Matthew Adams finished the full marathon in two-hours and twenty minutes, and Carlos Trujillo finished in one-hour and six minutes for the half. Heather Lieberg finished the women's half open in one-hour and 15 seconds.

“The weekend went awesome. We had sunny great weather, and a great response from all the athletes. Everyone in the City of Missoula really showed out to cheer on the runners and support them on the route, so it was a great weekend,” said Race Director, Anders Brooker.

Marathon officials said thankfully very few people needed to visit the medical tent at the marathon.
