Posted: Updated:
GLACIER NATIONAL PARK -  Glacier National Park officials are reminding visitors that water is running high and fast after one woman fell into McDonald Creek this weekend and drown.

In a press release, Park Spokeswoman Denise Germann said on Saturday, July 12 a 33-year-old woman from Buckley, Washington was with her husband near the bridge below Upper McDonald Creek Falls when she slipped and fell into the creek. It has been reported she was taking photos when she fell. Her husband jumped into the creek in an attempt to save her, but had to rescue himself and swim to the creek bank.

Park rangers caught up to the woman near the outlet of the creek into the lake. She was carried over Lower McDonald Creek Falls, approximately 30 feet in height. Rangers and visitors started CPR. The woman was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center where she passed away on Sunday, July 13.  The cause of death was drowning.

August and September is mating season for the hobo and that means you may be seeing more funnel-like webs in and around your home. Males are on a mission to find a female which is why they are a lot more active at this time.
