KENNEWICK, WA – Graffiti reading “Apt. 200 Meth Dealer” was the wrong way to report a possible crime according to police.

There is a right way and a wrong way to report possible crimes and in this case police say it was the wrong way. At Copper Ridge Apartments in Southridge someone spray painted on the brick wall in front of the complex the words Apt.” 200 Meth Dealer”. According to police, even if someone living in one of the apartments is a drug dealer, a public message is in no way evidence or even a considerable report.

"That in and of itself is not enough to institute an investigation. It might be intelligence information that could be passed on and investigators might look at that down the road particularly if somebody else comes up with additional information," said Mike Blatman, a crime specialist and Spokesperson for Kennewick Police.

While it was alarming to some residents driving to and from work on Monday, the only police investigation that could possibly stem from this is looking into who wrote the graffiti on the wall.

If you are aware of any illegal activity, Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers would like you to give them a call at 509-586-TIPS (8477).
