SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane, WA – Spokane’s Seth Spivey, Luke Tendler and Fernando Vivili each hit home runs in a six-run first inning en route to a 9-3 victory in the rubber match against the Vancouver Canadians in front of 3,755 fans at Avista Stadium. Spokane (17-7) now holds a three-game lead over Vancouver (14-10) for first place in the North Division.

Spivey, celebrating his 22nd birthday, launched his first professional home run to right field to put the Indians on board in the first inning. The second baseman finished the night with three hits to raise his now league-leading batting average to .348.

After Spivey connected, Tendler would hit his fourth homer of the season into the same spot out in right field. Zach Cone hit in Marcus Greene with an RBI triple, and then reached home safely thanks to a Juremi Profar base knock. Vivili then capped the inning with a two-run shot to deep left. The Indians never looked back.

Reed Garrett earned his second win on the season after tossing six innings and allowing three runs. The 16th-round 2014 draft pick has a 3.65 ERA this season, second amongst Spokane starters. Ryan Ledbetter and Erik Swanson completed the game, allowing no runs on two hits in the final three frames.

Profar would single home Cone once again, this time in the third inning. Tendler doubled home Spivey in the fourth. Jose Trevino scored on a wild pitch in the eighth inning to complete Spokane’s scoring onslaught.
