Chiefs Announce 2014-15 Regular Season Schedule

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs today released their 2014-15 regular season schedule, which will begin on the road against the Tri-City Americans on Saturday, September 20. Their trip to Kennewick to open the season marks the 23rd time the Chiefs have opened the season against the Americans in the past 25 years.

The Chiefs’ home opener – Bud Light Opening Night at Spokane Arena – is scheduled for the following Saturday, September 27, against the Americans.

Spokane will host opponents at Spokane Arena for 27 weekend games; seven Fridays, 16 Saturdays and four Sundays. The remainder of the 36-game home schedule includes three Tuesday night games and six Wednesday nights.

The Chiefs will feel at home early with nine of their first 14 games at Spokane Arena including three Saturday night games in the month of October.

Spokane will play U.S. Division foes 38 times in total, 16 home and 16 away. They will face the rival Tri-City Americans 12 times, including the first two games of the season, and will battle reigning Western Conference Champion Portland Winterhawks eight times. They will face the Seattle Thunderbirds ten times and the Everett Silvertips eight times, including the Coca-Cola Regular Season Finale on Sunday, March 22.

February 6 will mark the first of six road games as the Chiefs take on the Moose Jaw Warriors in Moose Jaw. Spokane will travel through the East Division from Feb. 6-14 before returning home to host Calgary on February 20.

By month, the Chiefs will play two games in September (one home, one away), 11 in October (seven home, four away), 12 in November (six home, six away), 11 in December (four home, seven away), 13 in January (seven home, six away), 12 in February (five home, seven away), 11 in March (six home, five away).

The 2014-15 Chiefs Promotional Schedule, including annual traditions such as the Teddy Bear Toss presented by The Spokesman-Review Christmas Fund, Buck Nights, giveaway nights and more will be announced at a later date.
