RICHLAND, WA - The family of a missing Kennewick man says their search is over after Richland Police found a body by a metal shed off Fowler Street Sunday night.

The body is now at the Benton County Coroner's Office and it has not been officially identified.

But the family of Cody Mason, 26 says they have stopped looking for him. Police found his items near the body.

Mason went missing two weeks ago and since then his family has been searching for him out by Bateman Island, the last place anyone reported seeing him.

Police say Mason's girlfriend Cynthia Haley found a body by a shed in a Richland neighborhood covered in shrubs.

Police say they are not looking for any suspects right now and they do not believe any foul play was involved.

Mason's father today jay White says while his son was dealing with legal issues and had a history of drug abuse they did not see this coming.

"He's the type of guy that no matter what his problems were he wanted to make your life happier, your life brighter, he was a good father and a good son, he never wanted people around him to be burdened by their day to day problems," said White.

He also explained they are thankful for all the support they received online and in the search efforts.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
