COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho -- Fontier Ice Arena will host Hockey Fest, a day of youth skills clinichs and exhibition hockey game on July 11 featuring local professional players and NHL legends to benefit youth hockey in the area.

A game between NHL legends, including Wayne Gretzky and Brett Hull, and the Coeur d'Alene Lakers--captained by Tampa Bay Lightning star Tyler Johnson--will conclude a day of family fun. Gozzer Ranch, the home of numerous NHL players and alumni, is one of the main sponsors of Hockey Fest at Frontier. Many local players, such as Tanner Mort from the Spokane Chiefs and Tyler Mort from the Eastern Eagles, will join Johnson on the Lakers. Activities begin with a public skate from 1-2:30 p.m., followed by a Johnny Hockey skills clinic (kids 10 and under) with Johnson from 2:45-3:45 p.m. and Stick and Puck (18 and under) with Johnson and many WHL All-Stars.

"We all grew up playing youth hockey as a kid and Hockey Fest is a great way to give back to a community that is so supportive of the sport," Johnson said. "Youth players will have a chance to be around high-level hockey and learn from a lot of talented players."

There will be a silent auction with many big items, a live auction at the intermission for a game-worn jersey signed by Johnson and a raffle for a round of golf with Johnson and NHL legen Russ Courtnall at Gozzer Ranch.

Advanced ticket prices range from $20 - $35 and will all increase if bought at the door. Tickets go on sale Monday, June 23. To purchase tickets, call (208) 765-4423 or e-mail info@kyro.org
