Snow And Debris Still Cover Some Glacier Park Trails

Posted: Updated:
WEST GLACIER - Spring gets off to a rocky start in Glacier National Park.

Park spokeswoman Denise Germann says there's more snow than usual hanging around the mountains. Many trails still have snow on them.

The Ptarmigan Falls bridge and Twin Falls bridge have been removed because of the bad winter. Temporary bridges are supposed to be put in early next month.

Debris from an avalanche has covered the Trout Lake trail. Hikers shouldn't use this trail, or the Park says that hikers should have route-finding skills to get over the debris.
