Snow Closes Whitefish Mountain Resort For The Day

Posted: Updated:
WHITEFISH - Almost 48 hours after opening for the summer, snow forces Whitefish Mountain Resort to close for the day.

There's enough snow up at the summit that people who work at the Resort couldn't drive up and get to the top of chair one.

Even though things like the zip line can go rain or shine, they went ahead and closed everything because they didn't have many reservations.

Anyone with plans at the Resort for Tuesday can pick another, sunnier day to come out and recreate.

Resort spokeswoman Riley Polumbus says they closed one day during the summer season last year, also in June.

"It can be day to day, or it can be hour to hour. Yesterday we had the alpine slide running, and then we had it shut down, and then we opened it again, and then we shut it down again," Polumbus explained, "It's typically a kind of thing that we do our best to keep things open for people."

They're taking it day by day and you can check the Resort's Facebook page for updates.
