UPDATE: Third Hanford Worker Reports Symptoms Related to Chemical Vapors

UPDATE/HANFORD, WA - A third Hanford worker is safe to return to work after smelling chemical vapors Tuesday.

Washington River Protection Solutions says the worker didn't experience any vapors-related symptoms after walking near Hanford's AP Tank Farm. However, the worker was taken to the onsite medical provider for a precautionary evaluation.

No work was going on inside the AP Farm at the time of the report.


HANFORD, WA - Washington River Protection Solutions tells NBC Right Now two more Hanford workers are reporting symptoms related to chemical vapors Monday afternoon.

The two workers have been evaluated by medical professionals and have been cleared to return to work.

The employees, one from Washington River Protection Solutions and one from Mission Support Alliance, were working at a laundry trailer outside the SY tank farm and were taken to the onsite medical provider for evaluation. No work was underway inside the SY tank farm at the time. 

Industrial hygiene technicians are taking samples in the area and checking for potential sources.
