Spokane County Swimming Pools & Liberty Lake Park Open On Friday!

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. - Friday the 13th will be a lucky day because the Spokane County's Northside Family Aquatic Facilities and Liberty Lake Park will open for the season! Let the splashing begin! The Southside Family Aquatics Facility is located at 3724 E. 61st Avenue and their phone number is (509) 448-5090.

The Northside Family Aquatics Facility is located at 18120 N. Hatch Road in Colbert and their phone number is (509) 468-5107.

The 2014 Season goes from June 13th – August 24th

Hours of Operation are from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. every day!

Special Programs and Events:

Father’s Day

  • June 16th from 10:30am – 5:30pm, fathers receive free admission to open swim when accompanied with their family.

World’s Largest Swimming Lesson!

  • June 20th from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00, be a part of the Guinness Book of World Records. There is no cost on this day and children from 5-12 years old are welcome. Go here for more information:  http://www.worldslargestswimminglesson.org/faq/

Swim and a Movie

  • Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the movie starts at dusk. Presale tickets are available starting June 13th.
  • Showings include:
    • Frozen – June 21st
    • Despicable Me 2 – July 5th
    • The Nut Job – July 19th
    • The Lego Movie – August 2nd
    • Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 – August 16th

Swimming Lessons

  • $35 per person ($5 discount for each additional child).
    • Southside Family Aquatics Facility will be offering Parent and Child classes – Level 2
    • Northside Family Aquatics Facility will be offering Parent /Child classes – Level 6

    SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - A 47-year-old man died in a hit-and-run around 1:30 Tuesday morning. The man, Robert Royer, was riding his bicycle near I-90 and Park Rd in Spokane Valley when he was hit. Royer's wife described him as a loving father and friend. A neighbor of the victim, Jodi Pennington, says she's concerned about the lack of street lighting and traffic signs on the road.

Someone took notice and sent a gift these four boys never expected.KHQ's Gabe Cohen received a package from Kansas City, sent from a man touched by the boys' efforts. In the package were four laptops, exactly what they had been working so hard to buy.
